Documentation about Virtual Machines
As virtual machine platform, I use Hyper-V as built into
Windows 10 Pro 64 Bit. I had used VirtualPC under Windows Vista
I am using various virtual machines:
- Windows 10 itself to test software in a "sand box" like environment.
- Debian Linux based and
TinyCore Linux based, to securely browse
Since version 1803 Windows 10 offers the Edge browser in the
"Application Guard" secure environment. This is also using virtual
machine technology. While I could use this alternative to securely
browse the web, I still use the Linux VM because
- Using the clipboard and importing and exporting data to/from the
application guarded Edge is not possible or complicated
- I am using Firefox in the VM. This allows me to test my web pages using a different browser.
